Information for Graduates
You're almost there, graduate! Taking part in commencement is the ceremonial celebration when you share in the excitement and joy of becoming a UNT graduate with your family and friends. Though this year’s ceremonies will be different than anticipated due to COVID-19, we can't wait to celebrate with you.
Students who plan to complete degree requirements in August or December must apply for fall graduation. The Registrar's Office website includes all application instructions and deadlines.
Login to MyUNT and from the Student Center click on the “Apply for Graduation” link in the Other Academic drop down. The “Apply for Graduation” link will be visible, even if you may not be eligible for graduation at this time. Please see your academic advising office for more information.
Fall Commencement Ceremony
Our commencement ceremonies look quite different this fall as we work to balance protecting the health and safety of graduates, guests and UNT faculty and staff with the need to provide events to celebrate the accomplishments of our graduates.
UNT hosted an in-person commencement ceremony at 1 p.m. Nov. 22, 2020, at Apogee Stadium and will host virtual College Recognition Ceremonies Dec. 11 and 12.
To participate in any fall commencement event, a student must either:
- be a bachelor’s degree candidate for graduation at the time of the ceremony and must have applied for graduation.
- be a doctoral and master's candidates who has applied for graduation by the posted deadline and completed their degree requirements.
